High Quality Results: Amphi has a long history of providing exceptional education opportunities for our students, which is why our schools are recognized as some of the best in the state. Maintaining the highest academic outcomes for our students is my top priority. But Amphi's "Promise of a Graduate" emphasizes important characteristics beyond academics, like the development of critical thinking, effective communication, and problem-solving skills - providing our students with the tools they need to be successful after high school. Everything we do is for our students, and I will center what is best for students in every decision.
Educator Recruitment & Retention: Every student deserves an exceptional teacher who inspires them to learn, grow, and succeed. Attracting and supporting outstanding educators is fundamentally important to our mission. I will champion competitive compensation that reflects the value of our teachers, ensure we invest in meaningful mentoring and professional development for those beginning their careers, and help strengthen partnerships that prepare the next generation of educators to serve in our schools.Â
Choose Amphi: With declining birthrates and the surging use of Empowerment Scholarship Accounts (school vouchers), public school enrollment is shrinking across the state. Our district can no longer count on being the default classroom option for local families. Yet we have so much to offer! Helping Amphi make its case to attract and retain students is a strategic priority that the school board can and must help lead.
Transparency & Family Engagement: Amphi's Governing Board is the public's accountability for the use of public funds. In addition to a financial oversight role, the board's responsibility is to ensure that the community has access to clear information and a platform to share concerns. My goal is to engage with our students, parents, and school staff to understand their experiences as important members of the district family, and to ensure that their voices hold genuine weight in the board's decision-making.
Community Partnerships: Even the best school districts encounter limitations as they attempt to meet the educational needs of every student. The reality is that districts can't do it alone. Community partners can compliment Amphi's efforts by helping to support students with unique needs - whether that's homelessness, language barriers, or learning differences. Embracing collaboration with high-quality community partners can help ensure that all of our students get the support they need to succeed in school.
